Your Support
Sets Us Apart
The Washington Home began in 1888 through the foresight and generosity
of volunteers and donors. We are grateful for the continued philanthropy
that has benefited the people and families of the communities we have
served for more than a century. Your support allows us to maintain
and continue
the high quality standard of care that forms the foundation of our
work.
The Washington Home is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization.
In addition to The Washington Home, our organization includes Community
Hospices
(Community Hospice of Maryland, Community
Hospice of Virginia, and Community
Hospice of Washington) and The Washington Home Center for Palliative
Care Studies, our research and quality improvement group that is
dedicated
to helping
improve the quality of life near the end-of-life.
If you desire, you
may direct a contribution in support of one or all parts of our
organization:
• The Washington Home
• Community Hospices
There are so many ways to support
our efforts. You can make a monetary contribution, donate your
car or select from a variety of planned
gift options. You may even
be willing to donate your time as a volunteer.
Your Donation Helps In So Many Ways
Donations are used to:
- Offset the cost of caring for residents and terminally ill patients who do not have the means to pay for the services they receive.
- Help purchase supplies for a variety of daily activities conducted
each day for our residents and patients.
- Maintain our 11-passenger resident bus.
- Purchase and maintain medical equipment.
- Provide free grief counseling services to children and adults coming to terms with the death of a beloved family member or friend.
The Hospice Cup

hospices in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC areas.
