Memorial & Tribute Gifts
You can honor someone who has special meaning in your life with a Tribute Gift.
Memorial Gifts offer a thoughtful and meaningful way to express condolences while commemorating a life. Many families request that Memorial Gifts be made in lieu of flowers to The Washington Home or to Community Hospices.
To find out more about our special events, including opportunities to serve on a planning committee or becoming a day of event volunteer, contact the Development Department at (202) 895-9680 or via e-mail at MHaines@thewashingtonhome.org.
Vehicle Donation Program
We will make arrangements to tow your vehicle free of charge. Please call us with the make, model, year and vehicle identification number (located on the registration) or print out the vehicle donation form, complete it and either fax to: (202) 895-0306 or mail it back to us. Proceeds from its sale will support care for our residents, hospice patients and to further research about how to best care for those near the end-of-life.
Planned Gifts are contributions made to support a charitable organization and are designed to address a donor's personal income and tax considerations. These gifts may include bequests through your will, gifts of stock, real property or even life insurance. Some gift arrangements are deferred and provide significant income or tax benefits to the donor. Planned Gifts are designed in consultation with your financial or tax advisor and your attorney. To discuss the giving opportunities that will best suit your needs, please contact Mollie Haines, Director of Communications and Development, at 202-895-0128 or via e-mail at MHaines@thewashingtonhome.org
