Residents of The Washington Home enjoy a quiet, residential neighborhood in Northwest Washington, DC, beautiful outdoor patios, gardens and visiting areas, and our facility’s modern, aesthetic design and architecture. Private, brightly lit, spacious rooms are essential to our residents’ quality of life and independence. We encourage residents to bring their personal belongings so that they can truly make The Washington Home their home.

A Caring Team
The Washington Home employs qualified, knowledgeable, long-term care professionals in the Washington, DC area. Interdisciplinary care teams – which include physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, a chaplain, social workers, rehabilitation and activity therapists, and volunteers – focus on the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each individual that we serve. Affiliations with local hospitals and other health care facilities enable us to effectively address more acute resident care needs.

We Dance, We Sing, We Eat a Lot of Ice Cream
When you visit your loved one at The Washington Home, you may need to make an appointment – days are busy. We listen to jazz, we go on trips, we read, we create, we garden, we eat, we party, we learn, we pray, we play with babies, we play with pets, and we celebrate holidays. We even have an ice cream cart that makes the rounds. And, by popular demand, we still play bingo.

As a prominent member of the community, many interesting, talented, and generous people visit and entertain our residents. Our diverse group of friends includes students from nearby schools, employees from local businesses and organizations, community members, and dignitaries from foreign nations.

Though we promote activity and socialization, we respect the privacy, dignity, and choice of each of the residents we serve.

The Washington Home is a non-profit organization with hundreds of caregivers, professionals, and support personnel dedicated to high quality care for individuals with a variety of long term needs.
