These are a few of the simple but profound "120 Secrets for Living a Good Life" gathered from residents and patients of The Washington Home and Community Hospices in celebration of the healthcare provider's 120th anniversary.
"Bake from scratch. Forgive yourself. Keep your word." The Washington Home, founded in 1888, and Community Hospices, founded in 1978, were pioneers in providing long-term and end-of-life care for residents in the metropolitan area. Today, The Washington Home and Community Hospices serves more than 600 residents in long-term, Alzheimer's and Subacute rehab care and more than 2200 children and adults in hospice care at home or in the inpatient unit.
"Love who you marry. Accept your aging body. Be brave but clever." Residents and patients of The Washington Home and Community Hospices range in age from eight months to 105 years; six residents are over 100. The '120 secrets for Living a Good Life' grew from their wit and wisdom and serve as guideposts on life's journey.
