2007 Art Buchwald Recipients

Diane and John Rehm

Diane Rehm, Host of National Public Radio's Diane Rehm Show, interviewed Buchwald shortly after he became a patient in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at The Washington Home and Community Hospices, and on two additional occasions during his last year. She was honored for her role in focusing national attention on the hospice concept and its benefits for patients and their families. John Rehm, a retired lawyer, was a volunteer in the Inpatient Hospice Unit.  Together they received the first Art Buchwald Award.
