Hospice Inpatient Unit Volunteer
(Washington location only)

Hospice volunteers at our inpatient unit on Upton Street, N.W. in Washington, D.C., provide non-medical support services to patients and  their families.  Patients are admitted to the IPU when additional medical care is required to manage their pain and disease symptoms.

Volunteers may assist in providing companionship and emotional support, helping with feeding, writing letters and various duties as requested by patients and their families.

Tea is served in the IPU daily at 3:00 p.m.  Volunteers assist with this welcome break.
