We work in partnership with local organizations to address the most pressing older adult needs in our community. We seek to reduce social isolation, support caregiver needs, decrease food insecurity, support the critically ill, and provide emergency funding for older adults (basic needs).

We advance our mission through grants provided for projects based in Washington, DC.
Our grant program is currently managed through an annual RFP season.
Social Investments
Over the past five years as a foundation, from July 2020 to June 2025, The Washington Home has provided significant funding to local Washington, DC organizations that provide care and services around TWH’s mission-focused support areas: Critically Ill – Healthcare Access & Caregiver Support, Social Isolation, Food Security, and Impact Giving.
